Alto Rabagão lagoon, Aldeia Nova – Morgade

This place is very interesting because of the rich diversity of habitats that exist there and that allows watching many species of birds. It is placed at the eastern end of the lagoon of Alto Rabagão (upstream part), where the water is plainer and the banks are less steep, providing conditions for the existence of some aquatic species including several that live in the mud. In the surroundings there are agricultural fields and villages with vegetable gardens, with all the characteristic species that live there, and an ancient mixed forest, attached to a deactivated agricultural school. It’s a very interesting place to see and listen to forest birds (click to listen to a record of this spot).
